Radio: Destroyer.net Radio

Destroyer.net Radio  www.destroyer.net

1. What is Destroyer.net internet radio project? Is it free?

Destroyer.net radio project is currently brought to you by Destroyer Entertainment Group, A Destroyer LTD. company.

Destroyer.net internet radio is a public internet radio station dedicated to creating a self promotion outlet for Breakbeat, DNB and similar genre, artists/DJ's. Being producers and DJ's ourselves we found one of the harder aspects of getting play on internet radio (or anywhere for that matter) was knowing someone on the inside and/or having to kiss there ass to get in with them. Not being fond of the amount of politics often involved with the music scene in general, We feel we have created a genuinely unique networking arena with a large avenue of possiblities for its users. All material heard on Destroyer.net Radio is supplied by its users.

Destroyer.net internet radio project is free to listen to, join and use for promotional and entertainment purposes.

2. Can anyone have their dj mix or unsigned tracks on destroyer.net radio? How do I do it?

Yes.

Anyone can have their DJ mix or unsigned tracks on our radio project as long as long as they fit into the criterium of being Drum and Bass, Jungle, Breaks and similar genre's of music. We are pretty flexible on this within a certain degree of reason, typically when we are unsure we will have a couple of the current dj's give it a listen and just make a group call on it. We do want people to submit creative , different and ground breaking material but do have to cater to genre weve chosen in order to maintain our user base. We're sure you understand. Additionally material must be atleast 128 Kbps - Mono OK , Stereo Preferred. No variable bitrate encoded material (VBR), It does not work well with our equip. Also please downsample larger sized mp3's 320 kbps, 192 kbps etc. to 128 , help us save space, bandwidth and time by doing this.

You can provide a link to mixes you've already placed online for us to download (Preferred) by joining our Forum and posting in the mixes and track submission forum.

OR

*You can submit a request for FTP details to us on our Forum titled upload details. Upon OK'ing your request and sending you details please upload with 24 hours in most cases the password will have been rotated out already and will no longer work.

In either case, Please include a description of what you're sending us including Title of mp3 - Artist - Relevant time date stamp - Genre. We prefer you to have correctly tagged your material prior to sending it to us so we dont have to.

*Note: ANYONE misusing the FTP, i.e. putting warez on it, anything other than submitting material, giving out the login to someone else to download out of it etc... WILL BE PROMTLY banned from the site. No exceptions. Without proof of some type of malfeasance, this is a permanent. We routinely monitor logs every day, so don't be stupid.

Please do not submit mixes from other internet or regular radio stations without permission. Further mixes from other stations must be advertising free for the aformentioned station i.e nothing with shouts in it, etc. Destroyer fully supports other radio stations but would like to avoid confilcts of interest that might arrise from it.

All individuals submitting material are welcome (And strongly encouraged) to take advantage of our bio/contact info page.

Here you may have:
a small picture or avatar 100 pixels by 130 pixels @ 72 dpi.

A bio or informative text 225 characters in length including spaces. Number of characters does not include your name as you would like it to appear.

Contact links i.e. email, website, phone number etc. to appear next to your pic and bio.

For an idea of what you can send us, take a look at http://www.destroyer.net/dbios.html

3. I would like to do a weekly show on Destroyer.net. What do I need to know and who do I contact?

First off you need to have cable modem, DSL or some type of higher bandwidth connection. Your upload bandwidth should be capable of delivering atleast 120-150 kbps. You can check your upload bandwidth at www.dslreports.com under the tools link. Do it more than once to be sure the number is reliable. Save the info.

      PC USERS

You will need to download winamp classic 2.9x or winamp 5.x (version 3 is not compatable with the shoutcast dsp and there isnt a version 4) and the shoutcast DSP plug-in for winamp. You can find links to these programs/downloads at www.shoutcast.com. We recommend you read about the process at http://www.shoutcast.com/download/broadcast.phtml . Nullsoft does a better job explaining the process then I could ever hope to so go check it out. Your machine should be able to handle ripping input from your mixer and streaming without skipping, run AIM and/or the web irc chat at the same time ca. 800 mhz or higher machines with a minimum 128 mb of ram recommended.

      MAC USERS

You will need to obtain Audion v3.+ It has a built in streaming device. It is available at http://www.panic.com/ . There are other streaming tools for mac but we don't recommend them and won't be able to help you with support so don't try unless you absolutely know what you are doing. Again potential online DJ's should read about the process at http://www.shoutcast.com/download/broadcast.phtml even tho it is fairly PC biased (you don't need any of the tools there if your using Audion).

      OTHER OS's

Its possible but none of us are going to spend any time providing support for other OS's. If you know what your doing and can broadcast at 128 kbps or atleast 96 kbps with shoutcast title, genre ,etc information from your platform feel free to contact us.

Additionally please check out the current calendar to determine when you could have your show at http://www.destroyer.net/dcal.html
Shows may be at any time day or night since the playlist server is automated. We will not bump other artists for you to have a show. You may of course contact that show's owner (using this board or AIM) and ask them to help you out or switch times if you have a schedule conflict. Please be available for your show every week as much as possible (We understand that connections die and so do friends etc and missing shows happens, but please do not make a habit of it). Additonally those wishing to DJ on Destroyer should have some mixes in the playlist or at the very least some examples of their ability and tune selection. Live DJ's should be willing to have their better mixes from their weeklies added to the playlist so we always have fresh content.

If you meet these requirements and have checked out all related criterium and are still interested, please contact us on our Forum Please include a minimal description of your setup as follows:

      1. Name and time of show desired (make sure its open according to the calendar)
i.e. MY SHOW featuring me and this other dude - Wednesdays 4-6 EST
      2. OS you are using
      3. mhz of your processor
      4. mb of ram
5 download and upload bandwidth of your connection

Once we respond you will be given access to a setup forum with screenshots etc for configuring your setup and scheduling a beta test for you to test your show.

Weekly DJ's have all the same options for bio, contact etc as listed above for people with material in the playlist.

4. Someone has submitted my mix, is using my tunes, or faked my identity in an unauthorized fashion to Destroyer.net's broadcast or within its network! Who do I talk to?

Destroyer will never knowingly allow users to add material to the radio stream without permission. If you feel your rights have been violated please take the following steps to rectify the situation.

      1. Email abuse at destroyer.net
Include the name of the material and time you heard it relative to your location. Please be prepared to prove your claims.
      2. Material will temporarily be removed from the playlist. Both claimant and submitting user will recieve each others contact info. Material will stay on hold until the situation is resolved to the legal copyright holders discretion. In such case whereas no prevailing party is defined, the material will just be removed from the playlist.
      3. Users found to knowingly submit material to the playlist in a fraudulent manner will be banned. No exceptions.
      4. DO NOT email destroyer about DJ name or other similar title disputes. Take it upon yourself to contact the individual on your own. This is not the same as someone pretending to be you and we really don't want to get involved.

5. I don't want a song or mix in playlist anymore or have changed the material and want to resubmit it or I want out all together. How to I change my submission or quit?

Send us a PM on our Forum titled remove this... or remove everything, stating the title of the mix, mixes, track or tracks you want removed. If you want to quit period make sure we know what you've submitted, under what name etc. and we will promtly (at our nearest convenience, might be 15 minutes could take up to 24 hours) remove the material in question. You may also send a mail to playlist requesting we switch out a mix or track, simplify identify with us what should be switched in a submission request.

6. What is Destroyer.net Radio's (including the forum, board, contact lists etc) policy on privacy?

Destroyer.net Radio and its affiliates will always keep your info private and it will never be used for any reason but for contact purposes regarding the station.
