It was a life long dream to open up a radio station - now this dream nearly became reality. Being bored and sick of the commercial stations playing on and on the same tracks, radio42 started it's operations in June 2002.
In the year 2005 radio42 stopped its operation, since the license and royalty fees could not be paid anymore here in Germany.
So radio42 as an Internet Radio was stopped! Now we are _just_ a web site with a link to #Musik.Lounge - they still play good music.
Bernd Niedergesaess is still working in a editorial manner within Europe. And will present you fresh CDs and new artists.
On RauteMusik.FM the channel #Musik.Lounge offers you adequate music to enjoy. This web site stays!

Going into details:
radio42 is NOT on-air anymore! radio42 is NO Internet Radio Station anymore! We also do not operate any other station anywhere else!
What we offer on our web site is only a link to www.RauteMusik.FM
I.e. I do music editorial work for their #Musik.Lounge channel. So I just have indirect something to do with RauteMusik - I help them composing and programming their lounge channel. But I am not responsible for any operations or other station related activities.
For me it was just important to be able to have an influence to editorial work in order to support smaller record labels, DJs and artists - that's my mission.
Lounge:
DEFINITION 1: livingroom
a) room from an appartment, a privat house to receive people.
b) external room in which one can regulary receive famous people, or well to do people, or artists - people that gather, the society gathering. For example the literary lounges in the XVII th and XVIII th centuries.
DEFINITION 2: to lounge - to relaxe in a languid and nonchalant affection, to enjoy with delight a moment of idleness.
DEFINITION 3: to laze (around or about) - to let oneself be lazy, doing nothing.
DEFINITION 4: radio42 - Music for Lounge-Lovers.
Track Collection:
The track collection of radio42 covers more than 10.000 albums or more than 60.000 tracks and is constantly growing.

DJ Bernd Niedergesaess: The CUE
Born in 1967 in Hamburg, Germany. Collecting records since 1981, mainly influenced by the late 70's Philly and Disco sound and the new Funk-Generation, he became a resident DJ of local Club Partys in Hamburg.
Still crazy about music he is now playing his main favourites for you: stylish House tunes, smooth Lounge & Chillout tracks with Latin and NuJazz flavours as well as classic Soul. |
